The software from Microsoft, SilverLight is a powerfull software for animation (just like flash). And with it can made any animation that Flash can. So, for games it's not so good, but i need your opinion.

The only thing I have ever used Silverlight Player for is LineRider (and the old version was better anyway).

Flash owns. And is easy to use.

Which one is more expensive? Is SilverLight free?

One thing Flash has over Silverlight is penetration of the overall internet. 99% of the internet has Flash, whereas Silverlight is nowhere close to that.

I personally prefer to develop towards the system that people have.

Yeah I did a little bit of short research and silverlight is free. I don't know how user friendly or powerful it is, but wouldn't hurt to try it out.

Silverlight is not worth using. And Flash is great.

John is right.

Silverlight to me, is Microsoft's attempt at expanding themselves even further. However it has been unable to gain a lot of popularity and Flash still dominates the browser something.. erm.. category.

Me too.

Doesn't really matter to me as long as it doesn't cost $700 >>.>>

I'll give it a shot later.

I develop games in Silverlight because I know the technology better than flash.

I think both platforms are very comparable, but flash does have the advantage of greater distribution.

Here is one of the games I created in Silverlight if you're interested.

SilverLight isn't that popular right now, but I'm keeping my eye on it. SilverLight right now make me think of Microsoft's XBox in it's early days; it may become a big thing over time.

Damn Jeff, that's a good flash... I guess I should start learning with the free software... (goes and downloads SilverLight)

I can't use Silverlight on Mac. Just the player plug-in.
