The My Side of the Mountain series are my favorite books. I had an idea when I picked up the book again: I bet I can make a RPG out of this. And here it is, lol. It is about running away from home, and trying to live off the land. Here is your character sheet:
Name: Age: (between 13 and 17) Money: $40 Traps: None Tools: Ax, Backpack Inventory: Living Area: None Pets: None HP: 100/100 XP: 0/100 Know-How: 1 (this is your level)
For this game, the players will also need pencil and papaer, because this is also a bit of a simulation (although I wouldn't suggest running away from home, lol). You will need to take notes of what plants you can/can't eat, how to make stuff, and other things. All the thing that you learn in here might help you survive by yourself out in the woods (but like I said earlier, I wouldn't suggest running away).
You look up on the internet "how to get to Delhi, New York" it pulled up stuff about India, then came up an article about a "wild boy" living up in the Catskills, which were close to Delhi. You pulled up the map section, and it showed you the way there. what do you do?
you make it to to the forests edge, when you relize you have nothing to start a fire with, and don't know much on making tools from the enviroment. What do you do? (this is where penicl and paper would come in handy)
