A strange turn of events unfolded one fateful day, there just happened to be two people working on similar projects on the other side of the universe with the same problem. One, hailing from our universe, was a brilliant human scientist, working with a prototype transporter using a nearby wormhole. The other, a universe away, a somewhat bumbling wizard working on a way to sneak back into his favorite tavern past closing time using his mirror as a door. As you can guess, both their calculations where continuously way off, and, for a split second, crossed each other. At that point, the drunken wizard poked his head threw the portal into the astonished scientist's portal. The laboratories security was amazing, and the scientist was somehow practiced in systema, so the poor drunken wizard was in chains a second later. The laboratory then quickly phoned the Kremlin, a group of sorts much like a clan or even a government, who then sent a small brigade to the sight to check it out. A scout force of twenty people had gone thrue the portal, ten on foot, three scout ships, two officers, and five motorized units. Communications where cut after they had gone into the portal, and the wizard was to drunk to say anything, so the lab remained under heavy guard and top secret for about a week.

After the about a week was over, the wizard finally recovered from a sleep he was in, typical after using your own magic to open a portal to some other galaxy, and attempted to break the somewhat primitive, but effective, fetters he was in using spells which to his amazement where unable to do anything here. The guards thought he was mad, and stopped attempting to interrogate him. Then the important bit happened, the men returned. Not only did they return, they did it fat and happy, with pockets stuffed with valuable items. They stated this to the Kremlin, who started raiding the other galaxy immediately. Withing a month, they had become the richest corporation in seven sectors, with no end in sight to wealth. But then, problems came up. Several men reported being attacked, several men died. Nothing significant, but it started worrying people. The main thing was that three infantry men armed with Ak-1000s where killed by a man and his wife, one only had a sword and his wife a stick. The observer in the truck stated that the armor was not just plain steel, bullets didn't seem to pierce it, and that the wife was using some kind of spell. She was shooting fire from her hands. The man in the car quickly ran to the Gatling turret in the back of his car and fired several rounds, it took three to kill the man and two to kill his wife. This was the first real encounter with any inhabitants, as most seemed to be scared away by the flying and rolling metal monsters. The Kremlin decided to send some more people in, and even a nuclear missal and a battle ship, but with neither fitting threw. But it is hard to keep things like that secret, so other companies found out and demanded to know what was going on on threat of war. The Kremlin told, and developed a new policy. Anyone from anywhere in the galaxy could use it's portal, with a small tax on entering, and the ability to keep whatever you managed to find.

Of course, for the native population of this galaxy, this was a bad thing to get continuously raided. Though this world is extremely wide, somehow spanning millions of miles, and you only have medieval technology, magic allows most of the world to get this news. So good luck out there.

Galaxy of Origin: Milky Way
Inventory: Pen in his breast pocket, two-hand sword, SMG, Chainmail, Crossbow
Health: 8
Energy: 4
Ammo: 93 Bullets, 10 bolts
Biography: Corporate raider; just a hired street urchin.
Physical appearance: Older teen, in expensive black suit (payment from the corporation) Crosshair Oaklies, sword and SMG slung across back.

You drop the sword and pull out the SMG. The second guard, suspecting you to pull the crossbow if you where going to attack, dropped his guard. You fired right into his head, killing him instantly. You then start to run at your top speed, which fortunately for you is pretty fast in this galaxy. But unfortunately, it isn't faster than projectiles. The fist guard threw his spear at you, grazing your right side and dealing some damage. Once again it appears you are lucky that the spear was not designed for throwing, but stabbing, or it could have done a ton more damage.

You manage to make it back to the tavern. You still don't have any money. You could rest to revive the energy and health you just lost, trying to buy a room on credit. You may be able to succeed, as you are well dressed, but you may insult the innkeeper, resulting in your expulsion from the tavern. You could just try taking a room, which may result in the tavern keeper calling the guards and you getting recognized, and thrown into prison. Or you could try finding another place to rest, maybe in one of the farms. Or you could do something other than rest, like whatever. What do you do?

I abandon the tavern; I'll look about and see if I can find better fortune; laying low of course.

That'll be all from me tonight; it's late.

Do you play any chess?

You know, 314d1, I had noticed some of your other RPGs in the past, but I can't say they appealed to me as much as this. It wasn't the 'big' story that put me off, it was what they were about that did not fascinate me, even though their style seemed interesting to me. Anyway, it's good to see this one is not just going to die with nobody to have joined it.

Oh, and what's with the greek in your About page? First one's 'half right' (the first sentence is correct, the second one is weird... I can't really tell what you meant to say - were you going for "So, sue me."? 'cause it reads "So/This way he/she/it sues me.&quot, the second line started off OK (the two letters replaced by question marks in black rhombuses are easy to figure out), but then the second half of the sentence (the one after the comma) is grammatically wrong, even though, with a little guesswork, it's easy to understand what you meant to say. The last line is correct, both in terms of meaning and grammatically, surprisingly.

By the way, I didn't know Mark Twain said/wrote that. Got to read his work more often, lol.

Sometimes I play chess, though not to often...

You walk out of the tavern finding two more guards immediately outside, questioning people it seems. They are not getting much out of the drunks, however, and are quickly getting frustrated. They both have crossbows and small daggers, for whatever reason. Maybe they usually guard the wall. They seem to be looking for you, but are heavily distracted describing something to a drunk with a long beard sipping what he can out of an empty bottle. They are quickly getting annoyed, almost doing charades to describe someone who seems to be you. Their weapons are both on their backs, loaded but not ready to fire.

This could be troublesome, or you could work this in your advantage. There are several drunks out here, it wouldn't take much to aggravate them into a fight with the two guards, maybe making the commotion you where looking for earlier, either giving you a chance to escape or allowing your former plan of pick pocketing people in the chaos. You could shoot both of the unsuspecting guards, who may fight back and will cost you ammo, as well as giving away your location to more guards, but it means they will not be a risk anymore. Or you could simply slip away into the city before they notice you, but if they do notice you then a man running away from two guards would probably raise suspicion. What do you do?

You can have some weak spells, like the ones I gave you, especially if it is taught to you by a drunken wizard. You can use them any time, but it will use some energy causing you to be tired and not fight as well, meaning you will need sleep more often.

I can't remember what the Greek says, I wrote it a year or two ago. Sorry. And yes, Mark Twain wrote the book. I took most of the quotes from the book "Letters from the Earth".

Now on to the story. Being close to the Wizard's house, you where near the portal when the incident happened. Your town was destroyed soon after, strange beasts of steel. You didn't really want to go, but your wife reminded you that you didn't have much here and that it wasn't worth dieing over. You took what you can carry, some money, some defense, and your knowledge of spells going to your mother-in-law's house in a walled off city some distance away.

You head off to the deep city just like any other day, it may be a crisis but you still need to make a living. You kiss your wife, lock the door, and head into the deep city. You go threw another ordinary day, nothing interesting, until the walk home that is...

A group of tiny green men where walking down the path near your home, all of them armed with crude weapons made of wood and bone. There is about five in all, and they seem to be ready to raid something. You have seen them before. Goblins. They where quite frequent on the country side, but pretty easy to deal with, a good show of force by killing one or two and they will go away. They are only really a threat if they can ambush you. The strange thing is that this is the first time you had seen one within a walled city, they defiantly would be not in.

Though they are interesting, they are really no threat. The larger threat would be the defect in the wall that aloud them in. You could fight the goblins, but they won't be able to break into your door or really do any damage, the only reason to fight them would be some training or to loot them. You could go straight to examining the walls, which could be dangerous but you will finally get a chance to defend your home, from whatever it is. Or you could go home, get your wife and objects, and get out of here before something bigger than goblins breaks in. What do you do?

You prepare to exit the ship. It was a black mercenary's ship, the one that you always seem to use. Just a small five men ship, with a few guns on the front and a missile station, all of which where disarmed by the Kremlin by the escort ships that now follow you. A few red fighters loaded with guns and a star near it's nose. You then land, with the exit light flashing. You fallow three other mercenaries, men you have worked with often though keep a professional distance and are not good friends, out into a series of defensive hallways. Some things happen, you stop a few times, but you can't see what is going on as you have the job as rearguard you are typically looking behind you. You enter a transportation cell, a kind of horizontal elevator used to travel large bases like this, and after another few minutes you exit again. You manage to look forward far enough to see a swirling vortex that continues to change colors every few minutes. Then you continue looking behind you, until you reach the portal itself in which you allowed yourself to look forward long enough to enter safely. On the other side, you just fallowed your team mates again threw another series of hallways. Eventually you enter the outside, but you can't see much looking backwards.

Always looking backwards, it is a really annoying job. You don't get to see much, but it pays better than being in the middle at least. It makes for a really annoying habit, to.

You eventually reach a transportation jeep, in which you man the rear gun. Just a small stationed machine gun of some kind used to throw off anybody following, but you really don't pay attention to it that much. You pay attention to where you are supposed to defend. You can't even examine the jeep, but you know it is probably mostly open with the mercenary clan's logo on the side, crossed swords with a handgun pointing toward the outside. That is what it looked like when you sent it here, so that is what it probably looks like now.

You don't get much a chance to examine the scenery, but you do see brief flashes. First wasteland, totaled, a forest here, an abandoned town here, another forest, a hill or two, then finally another forest. The final forest is where something happened.

You heard yelling. A turret, probably the one on top of the car, started firing. You readied your gun, preparing to fire at any target that came into your sight. "We are under attack, where are they? Ugh! They are hitting us from the trees! Lookout! IT is a grenade of some...BOOM!" was what you heard you captain say, before you where thrown from your seat from an explosion somewhere in front, where you hit your head against a rock and then just blacked out.

You wake up, still fully armed and seemingly healed of your small injury, but now tied to a tree. You can't see anyone else around, either mercenary or your mysterious assailant. Now you just have to escapee...

You could attempt to reach your pocket knife, which will probably be able to cut the rope if you use it correct, which could easily fail and may aggravate any guards watching you in secret. You could yell something to the effect of "What is going on?", which will alert the guards but may bring you some information. Or you could just stay here quietly, examining and waiting, to see if you can see anyone in the trees, or on the ground, or if any help comes. What do you do?

It's taken off :0

I'd shoot the guard closest to me with the crossbow, then shout something like, 'he shot that man!' and point to a random drunk. Hopefully that'd cause a commotion, and I could get some currency.

You pull out your crossbow and quickly fire a bolt at one of the guard's chest, hitting with a large TWANGand knocking him over. He got up, with only a dent in his armor. The guards drew their crossbows and pointed them toward the crowd. You where about to yell "He just shot that man!" when a drunk had for you, though he was pointing in several directions at once. The guards started arresting him, and people started yelling and a bit of chaos ensued. The chaos soon flowed into the tavern, and a small bar fight between two half drunken men began. The bar tender attempted to break them up, and you manage to steel the half-full tip jar. It isn't much, but it is the best you can see. You then escape before the guards find you.

You flee to an unoccupied outhouse, the only building you could think of at this time, and wait for the chaos to die down. After about an hour, the shouting has stopped and you can not hear any other signs of violence. You count your money, about fifty copper coins. Not allot, but a start.

Bathrooms seem to be a good place to plan, so why not just decide what to do here? You could stay in the outhouse longer, which would risk someone finding you in here and being suspicious, but doesn't risk that you will be damaged in the commotion around the tavern. You could go back to the tavern and buy a room, which may mean that you get rummaged in the chaos you created or be taken in by a guard, but doesn't risk someone finding you in the outhouse. Or you could leave the outhouse and go somewhere other than the tavern. What do you do?

You look around for about ten minutes, not hearing any signs of anyone. You then quietly reach for your pocket knife, only to be interrupted by three arrows. One an inch above your head, and two surrounded your hand. That plan is gone.

You continue to lie around, with the arrows still sticking in the trees. Nothing happens for an indefinite amount of time, it feels like hours but you have no way to be sure, until you hear a sound behind you, of someone landing softly, then your bonds went loose and you heard a second sound, of some swift running, and then silence. You quickly go to examine the other side of the tree, finding no sign of life, other than a small carving barley grazing the tree's bark: Leave the forest with an arrow pointing to your right.

You could listen to the sign, so you do not risk being shot from the trees, and wind op outside the forest. You could go the opposite way, which may find out what is going on and the other way could be a trap, but if they wanted you dead you would be dead and this may get you shot by one of the enemy snipers. You also have the choice of staying here, for whatever reason. But then there is another small issue of picking up the rope or not. It is a decent rope, rather thick, and you might be able to find a use for it, but it will be hard to carried around and slightly cumbersome without a pack of sorts. What do you do?

You stay in the out house, but in the few opportunities you had to lure people in all failed. It turns out that no one wants to meet a strange man in an outhouse. It became rumor that there was a strange man in this outhouse, it seems, since no one came near after the third guy. People probably started using the bathroom in the tavern. On top of that, a team of guards came to examine the outhouse. You locked the door and pretended to be using the outhouse, then walked out pretending to be finished stating that there was no one in there but you. You then decided that this wasn't going to work to well, the guards here are really suspicious. Maybe it is because there was three murders and an assault on different guards, maybe it was the fact that raiders have invaded this universe, or whatever it is. You assume you will need a new plan.

You just lean against the back of the tavern and plan on what to do next. You can burglarize houses, since you seem to be desperate for money, and that seems to be a good way to not get shot at. You could go take a nap in the tavern, now that you have a bit of money you may be able to buy a cheap room. You could go back to robbing civilians, even though that has failed in the past, it may work soon. Or you could attempt to go to the castle, the richest but most defended position. What do you do?

You quickly turn home and tell your wife, who quickly gathers the supplies she feels necessary. What is gathered is your horse and cart, some food, a small amount of keepsakes, and a few other supplies you do not have time to ask about. You then set off for the city, at a decent pace.

You arrive at the city and see what you normally see. A few shops and homes lining a dirt road, what most cities look like around here. There was a well in the town square, next to a statue of a famous knight.

Now that you are in the town square, the middle of the town in which you can go to any place rather quickly, what do you do? You can gather any supplies you feel are extra using your money, which will spend some money but make you better prepared. You can warn the people and guards about the the wall, which may get you an audience or may get you ignored and waste your time. Or you can do something else. What do you do?

You fallow the direction the arrow is pointing, leading you to a small plains. In the distance, you can see a small town with no wall and dust over it. Surrounding this field is more forests. Other than that, there is just a small lake, or large puddle more like, on the opposite side of the town.

You try to decide what to do. You could head out to the town, in which you may find some facilities or loot, but may have some conflict. You could go to the lake, where you may find water or food, but other than that there will not be much there. You could head out into the forest again, in any direction, hoping that the silent assailant has left. What do you do?

Biography: A young man who never sought trouble after settling down in a cottage with his wife in the countryside. His job as a merchant, although not stable, was enough to sustain them. Fortunately for him, though, he had been prepared for the time he would have to defend their home; the very same wizard who accidentally linked the two portals had taught him a couple of spells before his untimely 'abduction'.
Physical appearance: Around mid 20s, somewhat tall for his age, of average build, short, black hair, brown eyes, crooked nose.

I inform the local guards about the potential hole in the wall, by letting them know about the goblins I saw, after making sure my wife is OK.

By the way, come on, is nobody around here with the poor, somewhat primitive, innocent folk of this unknown galaxy?
