A gladius is a roman shortsword and a buckler is a very small shield you really got to learn that wikipedia and google is your friend

****! I thought it would be the Last War of the Roman Empire, with Cleopatra and Antony and all that stuff. I mean, the enemies had spathas, bronze armor, bronze shields, etc. >.>

Djal&Shalam: they keep steadfast and stab the enemy, one man charges and knocks Shalam down

Irony for the win, "shalam" actually means &quoteace" in Ancient Egyptian, and the same in Hebrew and Arabic, although it's "shalom" in Hebrew and "salam" in Arabic. Which technically makes "salami" a pacifist meat.
Anyway, Shalam stands back up as quickly as he can and tries to knock the guy back with his shield while he regains his feet and gets back in stance. Djal just keeps stabbing.

Bowmen: a hail of stones comes from the back of the army, many of the younger archers start to turn and gtfo
if they have any form of head or shield armor then they are fine, if not Rami is **** near killed while kem is unscathed
