YO i got a game idea, here is the basic story it will be around:
In the 80's science has advanced the technology of weapons creating large battle exoskeletons, huge tanks and battleships, and giant helicopters, equipped with futuristic laser, rocket, flamethrower weapons... hell whatever you can use to kill someone.
Following a long and dragged out Cold War, both sides fighting to be superior, but that doesn't matter anymore, seeing as Russia and America don't exist anymore, the world was thrown into chaos after the third world war, no one remembers the countries names anymore, just finding a way to live with the two factions duking it out over whatever parts of the continents there are to fight over. the Revolutionary Offensive, and the Peoples United Front. Hell sometimes they don't even remember why they fight, only that they hate each other, the RO fighting for what the call Democracy, and the PUF going after generally freedom for themselves and everyone, with no government. Neither side has made much progress other than destroying each other, and the population of the world is slowly declining from the amount of casualties each side has sustained. No one wants to join, but they have to due to conscription enforced by both sides, although there are dozens of small factions trying to keep their homes secure from the war, which ironically has caused more blood to spill than ever.
The premise of the game is you play a lieutenant, who commands a small platoon of troops to fight throughout the war.

@Fethery:I'm working on it.
I was also thinking about a game in which there are 2 sides.4 or 5 players to a side,they then must figure out a team name and 3 bosses of their imagination.I decide the bosses' hp and skills.Then players of the opposing team try to defeat the 3 bosses.The first team to defeat all 3 bosses wins.It's kinda a contest version of complete the objective.So?
if your going for scifi, i'd suggest mine, but i already have it mapped out, and it's more complex, maybe just a simple little star wars game or something?

How's this.
Last year you were just an ordinary bum on the street, but then the planetary government went and conscripted you into their exploration service. After a six month training program you are ready. You get given your assignment, find a rare metal, rumored to exist on a distant planet, and bring it back. But, right before you set out, you learn that the governments of other planets are also after this metal, you must beat them to it.

Government of Homeplanet: Democracy: The people are kind and freindly, buff to exploration, but nerf to damage. Dictatorship: The people are ruled with an iron fist, conscription is common, buff to damage, but nerf to spaceship health.

how does this look
You are an orphan. On your birthday you are given a journal. This journal leads you to the site of the lost roanoke colony. You follow the instructions in the journal and are sucked, atom by atom, through the ground and you land,in one piece, at the end of a cave. You exit the cave and find yourself in a city larger than New York. You are in Roanoke. You then find in the journal that you have family here. When you meet him/her you learn that the city is on the verge of civil war, and you might tip the balance either way.
