Last year you were just an ordinary bum on the street, but then the planetary government went and conscripted you into their exploration service. After a six month training program you are ready. You get given your assignment, find a rare metal, rumored to exist on a distant planet, and bring it back. But, right before you set out, you learn that the governments of other planets as well as space pirates are also after this metal, you must beat them to it.

Weapons: You are brought to a room filled with weapons, choose wisely, because new ones are expensive.
Pistol: portable and easy to bring to bear, great accuracy. 6 damage.
SMG: Low accuracy but great fire rate. 4 damage
Rifle: Great accuracy and damage, but harder to bring to bear and slow fire rate. 12 damage.

Ship: After choosing your weapon you are brought to the hanger, each ship has different advantages.

Fox: Great maneuverability, mid-range damage, but low health.
Neptune: Made for exploration, gives a planet exploration bonus, but poor maneuverability and firepower, high health.
Veuian Corsair: Has a great hyperdrive, as well as high damage, but low maneuverability, mid-range health.

Government of Homeplanet:
Democracy: The people are kind and freindly, buff to exploration, but nerf to damage.
Dictatorship: The people are ruled with an iron fist, conscription is common, buff to damage, but nerf to spaceship health.
Capitalist: The Planet is ruled by the rich, because of this you have an easier time finding goods, but prices are more likely to be high.

You open a com line to the pirate, "And what you fail to realize is my ship is dragging mines!" Then you pass him and the missiles hit him, killing the shields, but you got hit too.

You try to, but he is stronger then you expected, and almost pushes your blade into your head before you pull back. You can't win a contest of strength, so you have to use your wits. What do you do.

system a, high chance of meeting a space pirate, but planet surfaces are really safe.

system b, there are a few space pirates, but they are not real dangerous, planet surfaces have a good mix of predators and prey.

system c, no space pirates, but planet surfaces are filled with carnivorous plants and animals

I choose system b. On entry I try to keep as silent and try an echoscan for nearby ships. (If I dont have an echoscan I use the radar, if I dont have that then I just look for enemy ships)

Well, you could have mentioned that before.

"Screw this!" I turn to Zago. "I'm going to strafe them with the Wolf, stick with the plan." I make a run for the Wolf, while firing off a shot at the invaders every so often. When I take off, I'll strafe the troops already on the beach, swing around, then open fire upon the navy. Repeat until drunk, then repeat some more.

You run towards him and dodge when he slams down his sword, you then slam it into the ground, (getting it stuck) and stab him in the gut. While you were busy Damon found another fighter about the same as his previous one. You walk over to the other pod and find the pirate dead and a countdown to destruction of the base and the fighter.
