OK, D-Day RPG was not a success, and did not even get to 3/5 players before it practically went out of business. It was because the character sheet was too simple. Fortunately, I have learned from my mistake and plan to make a second, more complicated version. You can also choose what team you are on! Here is the character sheet:
1) The player has 30 points to assign among his last 9 attributes. One morale point counts as 5, and one HP point counts as 3. He/she can choose 2 perks of his choice.
2) You die when you run out of health and you surrender when you run out of morale.
3) To advance past level 1, a player must go up 10 XP. To advance past level 2, a player must go up 20 XP. 30 XP for 3, and so on.
4) When a level goes up, the player may split 5 points among his attributes.
5) One kill is 5 XP. XP will also be rewarded according to other things, such as surviving an ambush.
Here is a list of perks and their effects:
Hard to Break Increases morale by 5 points.
Marksman: Increases accuracy by 3 points.
Rapid Runner: Increases agility by 3 points.
Heavy Duty: Increases armor by 3 points.
Quick Draw: Increases dexterity by 3 points.
Unstoppable: Increases endurance by 3 points.
Lucky Charm: Increases luck by 3 points.
Ninja: Increases stealth by 3 points.
Maximum of 5 players. After 3 days, the game will start regardless of player count.
Your squad quietly descends down the cliff towards the point where you shot the troops. As they are hiding the bodies, you hear silent footsteps. What do you do?
You take cover, and 4 friendlies come out of the bushes. They take you and your squad to a rendezvous point for a platoon of Easy Company.
After you rendezvous with about 10 other troops (19 in total), you are moving through a clearing when a huge explosion rocks the ground beneath you! Artillery fire! What do you do?
You see no overhanging ledge. Fortunately, due to your agility bonus, you manage to dodge the artillery blasts. (+5 XP) However, a piece of shrapnel gets stuck in your arm. (-3 HP) (-3 Dexterity) (-4 Morale)
About 10 minutes after the artillery fire is over, you and 6 other surviving troops manage to gather together. About 3 are badly wounded. What do you do?
Fortunately for you, a medic happens to be in the group of survivors. He heals you for the most part. (+3 HP) (+2 Dexterity) (+1 Morale). However, it is still hard to use your dominant arm.
Unfortunately, you and the 6 other troops are completely lost and demoralized. (-3 Morale) They need to find a place to camp and heal their injuries, which means that somebody needs to scout the area. Do you volunteer to scout?
You begin to scout the area, and you notice nothing strange. After reporting back to camp, you inform the squad that everything looks fine and then they set up camp and go to sleep.
However, in the morning, 2 of the 3 injured soldiers are dead despite the attempts made by the medic. (-2 Morale) Your squad decides that it is best to move out of the area. On the travel you learn the names of your fellow soldiers. They are Private Kelly (Medic), Private Justin (Sniper), and Private Shane (Injured rifleman).
While you are traveling through the forest, you hear quick footsteps. Before you can respond, a bullet hits Private Justin in the neck, killing him for sure. What do you do?
You keep firing, and Pvt. Kelly takes out his pistol too. You manage to hit and kill one of the troops. (+5 XP) Now there are 3 Germans left, 1 wounded. Eventually, the Germans are in complete cover behind a rock, and you can fire no more. What do you do?
Recommended actions:
A. Wait for the enemy to come out from behind the rock, then fire at them.
B. Pack your things and run like h***, risking getting shot by the enemy.
