Alexis, you're probably one of the best artists I've seen on AG so far. The Self portraits you did on the first few pages were awesome. I'm more into music as I have no artistic skill what so ever, but I'm working on a few things for my Art class. Any tips on pencil drawings (is that the right name?) would be appreciated and used. Thanks, and keep up the great work.
Oh jeez, I haven't been on here in a long time D: I have a lot of new stuff to post. Pieguyme, I learned a lot of techniques from a book titled "how to draw real people" that my parents got me for Christmas several years ago. I also looked up how to draw faces and bodies proportionally on the internet, and that helped. Invest in a nice set of art pencils, Staedtler is an amazing brand, and get some blending stubs (tortillions) or learn how to make them yourself. Practice is also important, I know that every single time I draw, that I improve little by little, and looking back at my older stuff, I'm leaps and bounds ahead of where I used to be artistically. Youtube is your friend. There are amazing artists out there who do tutorials and speed drawings, so just watch those and it should end up being pretty easy to pick up techniques.
Ok. Now for the art dump. I'm going to try to keep these in order from oldest to most recent.
This is a colored in version of the one above that I had inked.
This is a graphite piece that I was working on, it was for fun and it was a really casual drawing.
I worked on it some more and I realized it was one of my favorite pieces I've done so far, but I haven't even finished it yet. I decided to only work on it when I was in a happy, creative mood.
I had been wanting more practice with my india ink pens, so I drew an elk and colored it with prismacolor verithin colored pencils
Then, I began working on an owl, with india ink, and i colored it in (barely) with my prismacolor watercolor pencils [url=http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/Alexispiceytiger/tumblr_n0k1pum8L11sb17jyo1_1280_zps35cf52cd.jpg]
THEEENNN I started on a wolf. I worked on it for about 5 or 6 hours, again, done with india ink.
Finally, as I mentioned before, I have watercolor pencils. I hadn't used them EVER before the owl, so I practiced by drawing my eye.
And that is just about it for now. I am working on a few largish projects, and I will probably post those eventually.
Yeah, that is about the last time I saw any of your work. By the time I'm ready to get another tattoo, you are most definitely going to be the person I get in touch with first.
You have prismacolor pencils? ENVYYYYYYYYYY Are they really worth the price tag? Judging by your work I would say yes, but your coloring technique has always been awesome.
Great pictures Alexis . By the way do you do Graffities too ? cause that drawings are cool to be made on a wall . here in Argentina there are graffities in a lot of walls some are great like this drawings .

Yes, I have prismacolor verithin colored pencils, prismacolor watersoluble pencils, and prismacolor markers and colorless blending markers. I love them to death, I've been using them a lot lately. I'd say that they are worth the price tag, if you do a lot of colored pencil or marker drawings. The markers and verithin colored pencils were gifts, and my father recently bought me the watercolor pencils as a present for "just being a good daughter," very heartwarming.
This is fantastic! Wow! I am amazed. I'm a writer; I get kinda intimidated by art cuz I can't do it. Wow.
Thank you! I appreciate it! I like writing as well, but I haven't written any poetry or short stories in a while because I have been so busy lately.
The eyes are fantastic. The others are as well, but the eyes are my favorite.
Thank you, I usually just draw eyes when I am trying to get used to a new medium. I've doodled eyes all over everything for as long as I can remember, so it's usually the first thing that pops into my mind when I want to practice. I've been pushing myself to draw animals recently, however, because I don't usually and I feel like I need the practice getting the textures down.

I don't do grafitti, although I think it would be fun to learn how to spray paint. I've seen some amazing spray paint art on youtube.
You should have scanned them in and sent them to the Armatar contest! Great Job! I like the reindeer!

I'm not active on here at all, I didn't even know there was an Armatar contest. If there are any more, I may submit something, in the future.
