The year is 2651 A.D. Humanity has been pushed too the brink of extinction by a genocidal alien race. Earth was destroyed in an assault a decade ago. Now, the survivors are living on ALG-L42 "Metal Earth". Forever searching the universe for a new planet. After years of searching, the alien species that initiated the attack has caught up with Metal Earth and wants to finish the human race. After days of fighting, Metal Earth shows signs of failing, the ten-thousand strong population of Metal Earth is forced to evacuate. You and four others rush into an escape pod and jettison to the nearest planet, ELSAR-563. The landing is terrible at best and you get knocked unconcious. When you wake up you see two largely varying landscapes: a dry barren wasteland, with no resources on the surface. On the other side, you see a lush paradise, inhabited by many alien species, some peaceful, others monstrous predators. It is almost nighttime. This is where you begin.

You wake up, your pod crashed on the border of two different ecosystems, one barren desert, the other a lush forest. You see a dead person in front of you, neck snapped. You see footprints going into the forest. There are also two rat-like animals crushed under a fuel tank. Your gun and ammo packs have been looted from you. You are upside-down tied from a tree and your head feels very woozy and your joints are stiff.
You untie yourself and fall a foot down, straight on your head. After a couple days of being upside-down, all the blood has gone to your head and feel very dizzy upon standing.
You hit one, directly through the eye, disentigrating his brain matter. Dust pours out off his eye socket as he screams. your other shot bounces off of the others helmet, deflecting into his partners other eye. He fires 3 shots randomly into the shrubbery in your direction. One hits your Leg O' Flesh, cooking it for you. One goes of into the dirt, making a cliche laser hole in the ground. The last however, hits you in your bad leg. It stings terribly, but your already half crippled in that leg and thus, you will suffer no further speed impedements.
The alien goes down, much in the same as the other. But as he dies, he fires his laser rifle into the air above you. A few shots hit a tree limb, and it falls, pinning your bad leg on the ground. It is too big for you to move aside and the other two aliens are coming back this way after hearing the fight.
As they enter the area they fire a 3-round burst each, one completely misses. The other scores two hits then one other misses and disentigrates the tree limb pinning you. You shoot them in the face, disentigrating their heads and crawl towards them to loot the four bodies.

On the bodies you find 4 sets of alien armor, a plasma pistol, 3 laser rifles, and a some wrist device, you see a map of sorts on it and you can hear an alien voice coming from it. All this stuff is beginning to weigh you down and you are forced to leave all of the extra armor behind and 3 of the Laser rifles.
You wake from the crash, startled and tired at the same time. It has been two days since the crash and your joints are very stiff. After a few minutes, you realize you are hanging by a rope upside down. And have been for nearly two days. Behind you, you see a dead person, neck snapped. Not natural. You see human footprints going into the forest and a set of smaller animal ones. You look around and hear a noise in the forest, you grab your gun, then realize that the empty pocket of air in your holster. You've been looted! The rope holding you in place looks easy enough to untie and your only a foot off the ground.

You hit the ground, hard. Then you begin to rest. Its very uneventful near the pod. You see smoke over the forest and hear laser guns firing, even see a laser fly off into the sky.
