Last year you were just an ordinary bum on the street, but then the planetary government went and conscripted you into their exploration service. After a six month training program you are ready. You get given your assignment, find a rare metal, rumored to exist on a distant planet, and bring it back. But, right before you set out, you learn that the governments of other planets as well as space pirates are also after this metal, you must beat them to it.

Is this your first time hosting? You should probably bring up problems that face the individual, then (if they say they looked around or there's a breather in the action) you can give them the sitrep with the fleet and such. For example, maybe I could have gotten into a dogfight with the fighter's squadron leader or something. Then maybe get into a dogfight with the hostile Pirate Leader. Just some suggestions.
I tell him that I would like to stay at his base. "One more thing, if you have any more supplies to spare, I'd definitely like to take some. You can decline if you need them currently."

that is the best i can do on the ship (probably won't come out) the periods are guns. the parallel lines are guns, unless they go into the ship, then it is an engine. The thing hanging down on the front is the main gun.
p.s. if the ship doesn't work, copy and paste it into the comment box, it should come out then.

yes this is my first time hosting, if you have suggestions I am open to them, I do not really understand the rest of your comment.
"My fleet was destroyed so i have plenty of supplies. I don't know what i shall do, the next person who tries to destroy me will have an easy time, all i have left is my fighter (upgraded)." your ship took a little damage. Do you want to stay here for a while or just go onto the next system? Also, what do you do about Keer Antilles?

What I mean is, you should bring up more problems mid-battle for the player to overcome. For example, like I said, get into a fight with a hostile fighter or the pirate leader.
The pirate Leader? "Well, you could help me with my job with the __________. Lot less governments, vigilanties, and bounty hunters in my line of work. Plus, all we have to do are find minerals and hunt some carnivorous life-forms if you're into having an adrenaline rush."

You've done it, the ship is breaking up. But it ain't over yet, the bulkheads around the remaining guns pull back and reveal they are actually fighters, they fly out and destroy Damon's fighter (he ejected) and damage Zane's ship. You manage to destroy a couple of them, but you still have to deal with a half dozen, including the leader. What do you do?
p.s. how's that trooper555able?

After a couple weeks you have Zago's ship fixed completely and you are ready to leave. Keer sets some charges and destroys his base after you leave. Some nearby star systems might have some unobtainium.
Tano system: A ruthless government rules one of the planets and conducts frequent raids on its neighbors, luckily they don't know of the metal, and you will have no trouble getting help from the natives.
Petbe system: A system that has never been explored by anyone of any planetary government. Who knows what you'll find.
Koni system: A system with one planet heavily colonized, but the rest are wild and filled with animals, some dangerous, some not.

I'm glad you presented a problem. However, a little bit of detail on the dogfights with the two fighters would be nice. It'll make the fighting more exciting, and will make your players think tactically instead of simply stating that they targeted this guy. Overall, detail is all you need so far.
I'm guessing the Tano system's government isn't friendly towards mine? Anyways, we head off to the Tano system. Seems like a good place to bring able-bodied Natives.

Aya: This planet has been raided so much its population is really small, just a few villages spread out.
Sebo Prime: The bigger of a double planet, both orbit around a small black hole which orbits the star. There is a small city near the eqauter and several more spread out.
Vana: The least raided, there is a small nation composed of several big cities. (the size of germany) The nation has several untapped sources but is at war with their larger neighbor to the west. Both nations have several mineral sources but different ideaologies, (communist and republic)
Which one do you head to?

You destroy the other fighters with ease and start shooting the leader. However he has some kind of shield and your shots are absorbed. The pirate hails you, "You there, you have proven yourself a competent commander, now lets see how well you function on your own. I will disable my shields and you will agree to keep your friends out we can settle this like men" What do you do?
